Registering to vote is the first step in making your voice heard. If you’re a US citizen and meet Ohio’s eligibility requirements, you can register online, by mail, or in person. It’s quick and easy — just be sure to do it before the registration deadline, Monday April 6th.
If you turn 18 on or before November 3rd, you are eligible to vote for candidates in the May 5th Primary Election. Be sure to register by Monday, April 6th.
Request an absentee ballot
You can request an absentee ballot for the May 5th Primary Election now and it will be mailed to you once it's ready.
Be aware that Ohio's election laws have changed and just having your ballot postmarked by Election Day is no longer enough. Absentee ballots must now ARRIVE at the Board of Elections by the time polls close on Election Day. So be sure to mail back your ballot as early as possible, take it directly to the post office and ask them to post mark it in front of you, or drop it off at the Board of Elections at 475 Western Ave by May 5th.
